The working group recently learned that Winnow, the technology developer aiming to cut waste in half in commercial kitchens, is spearheading a pioneering food waste project.

Winnow received a grant from the Kroger Foundation and is partnering with FoodCycle LA to create a pilot program using their waste prevention software. They are looking for businesses that have a food budget of $500,000 or more to be part of this program.

Potential partners include restaurants, hotels, sports centers, government buildings,hospitals, and universities.. Partners will receive a Winnow system for tracking food waste, and typically can expect to save around  50% in food costs after participating in the program.
